University of Minnesota Mechanical Engineering building repointing terra cotta rollover joint

UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA

Mechanical Engineering Building – Minneapolis, MN

One of our many U of M projects. The greatest challenge of this project was the repointing of the terra cotta rollover joint. The caps were very fragile and extra care had to be taken when pointing the mortar joints to not damage the caps. The project was also on a very tight timeline so sequencing of work was very crucial to get the project completed on time. There were multiple trades working on the exterior of the building so communication and coordination was crucial.
