Fort Snelling Project
Historic Fort Snelling Buildings 17 & 18, restoration project
Buildings 17 & 18
Historic Fort Snelling
AMR joined in the preservation of these iconic buildings at Historic Fort Snelling. This project was directly on the walking path of the main fort. Our professionals worked around hundred’s of tourists daily doing their best to limit disruption of their experience. Paint covering the stone sills had to be removed without damaging the stone or surrounding brick. The replacement bricks were custom made in three shades to match the building as needed.
- Solid cut and tuck-pointed 100% of the brick and stone
- Installed the historic raised joint on the stone
- Removed and replaced 2000+ individual bricks
- Removed paint from the stone sills
- Removed non-historic stairs and repaired stone and brick in the areas
