Fort Snelling – Half Moon Battery
Historic Fort Snelling
The exterior wall of this beautiful Fort Snelling battery was around 100’ feet from the ground on a cliff. We utilized specialized scaffolding to access the area with safety being our primary concern. The old stone was dropped down the wall and cleaned up at the base of the cliff. The drop area had to be secured 20’ high, because a park trail ran along the location. We then had new stone cut to match the original and brought all of the stone and mortar out on the scaffold from ramps.
+Removal and replacement of 280’ of the stone on the exterior wall
+Replacement of the wood lintels for miscellaneous openings along the battery with reclaimed wood, this included rebuilding the openings
